Bishop Broughton Memorial Library catalogue
The rare book collection in the Moore College Library, called the Bishop Broughton Memorial Library, was listed in a published catalogue, of which volume 1 appeared in 1973.The catalogue was compiled by the Rev. Noel Pollard and Mrs Margaret Chivers, and edited by N.K. Macintosh. The collection was formed by the amalgamation of early books donated to the College, and books from the Sydney Diocesan Library, which were transferred to Moore College in 1959.
This series includes several typed copies of the catalogue, divided into books printed before 1700, 1700-1800 and 1800-1840, as well as a copy of the published catalogue and cataloguing notes.
A sub-series includes correspondence and reports relating to the inclusion in the Australia’s Book Heritage Project of the Broughton Library Catalogue, from 1993-1995.
A second sub-series includes bibliographic notes and printed material relating to the Bray Collection, which forms part of the Bishop Broughton Memorial Library.
